Hello all.

After pourchesing a Grassi I looked on the web and found this winderful fourum. I had read it back and forth and found much info. Thanks ALL.

I now know my Grassi is as old as I am :) (or young...)

I am a mediun player and have some questions:

My Grassi is 46XXX and marked 'proffesional'. I will upload pic soon as well. I was told it had an overall and it plays very well.

1. When you write green rollers, what does that mean?
2. Why don't anybody write the full SN of his Grassi. Is there a reasin for that?

Thanks again for all the info in the fourum,
Yaron. (a Grassi fan!)

The RH pinky keys rollers are green, aka "Jade". A certain batch of instruments had these green rollers.
2. Why don't anybody write the full SN of his Grassi. Is there a reasin for that?
There have been incidents that someone reported an instrument with serial number 12345 as stolen - just by looking at some eBay auction or a forum like this. This can bring the (legitimate) owner into serious trouble. So, in order not to give people any ideas, the last two digits are usually concealed.

I played a Grassi 2000 alto for about 10 years. It was a great instrument. (I sold it after I bought my current alto, a Selmer.) I often wished that I had kept it. Good luck with your new sax.
