Who is the man? [Archive] - Sax on the Web Forum

I purchased a Noblet alto saxophone about 3 years ago (it's an amazing sax) and I realized there was a man's head on the neck of the saxophone. Me and my friend (who plays Tenor) lovingly refer to him as "Steve" but I would love to know who this man actually is. ALSO there are two "40's" carved that are seemingly carved into the G# key. Does that have any significance? I thought it was just vandalism from a previous owner.
