View Full Version : WWBW - Music123 Same Company?

If anybody knows the relationship between WWBW and Music 123 please explain.

Somebody on this board said they are sister companies. When I asked a sales person at Music 123 about WWBW, she acted like she did not know who I was talking about. But once when I did a search on the Music 123 web site, it returned a result at WWBW. Plus their sites look pretty darn similar.

The reason I want to know is because I was wronged by WWBW and swore I would not do business with them. I had an order that qualified for free shipping, but the shopping cart would not process correctly. When I called, they said it expired (even though it still showed on my order). They refused to honor it, and when I posted a complaint to customer service, they never responded. I was a regular customer doing about $100/ month in business.

So far Music 123 has been good to me and actually seems to have the same pricing, but usually a more liberal "free shipping" policy. However, if they're the same, I'll need to find another source for my music needs.

Any comments?

thx
Steven

Phew! I read through about 5 pages of that thread, and did not really seen the answer. The first thread suggested that WWBW and Musician's friend were related - I did not see Music 123. Am I to infer Music 123 as well?

I think I got my answer though... I've got to decide if my contempt for one of them should carry to the other.

I have always had great experience with Sam Ash. Give them a try.

Haven't read the old linked threads, but Musician's Friend shipped me some items overseas that WWBW wouldn't, so I would doubt they are very closely related, if at all. No idea about Music123.

I was very pleased with Musician's Friend BTW.

As far as I understand it, WWBW and Music 123 are one and the same. I do a lot of business with weinermusic out of NY. Great prices (usually lower than WWBW) and excellent customer service. Orders of $60 or more qualify for free shipping.

I know they are both owned by Guitar Center, but I believe they're operated as separate companies ... not sure about that, though. To the best of my memory, Guitar Center has owned MF for quite a while, and took over WWBW when the latter went bankrupt a few years ago.

Speaking of Weiner Music, what happened to the wiener? Haven't seen him here for some time.
