I don't care what brand. Any brand will do. Heck, I don't even care if it works. I just want one.

The only metal bass clarinets I've seen are Kohlerts (of which I own one), Moennig Brothers, and Pedler. If you have a choice, I'd strongly recommend Kohlert over the other two. Assuming it matters how they play!

I thought they were Kohler not Kohlert. Someone on the WW forum has one but I don't think his is for sale. Best of luck finding one.

You're going to hate hearing this but you just missed on on eBay a couple weeks ago.
A Kohlert that I watched go from a few dollars to too much for me.

I stand corrected...Dave says he has seen them engraved KohlerT. I knwo mine is KohleR and I have seen two others with the KohleR spelling.
Anyway, let's help Giz satisfy his GAS jonz!

My metal bass clarinet is absolutely Kohlert with a "t" on the end. As I wrote elsewhere, besides my metal Kohlert (with a "t") I've renovated a similar metal one for a local player, and have owned/restored/modified at least six other Kohlert (with a "t") bass clarinets made of wood or hard rubber but otherwise identical in design to my metal one.
I've never seen a metal bass clarinet labelled Kohler (no "t") but if Randall has seen them, then they must exist. I've read that Kohler (no "t") is a different company and although I thought they only made saxophones, I guess that's not correct.
Not to be confused with the American Kohler company, makers of fine toilets and bathroom fixtures........ :)

That sounds like they would be able to make fine bass clarinets.

OOH, that hurts! Although if you saw the low-C extension I made for my metal Kohlert bass clarinet, not far from the truth -- I had to special-order some 1" ID copper tubing and pipe elbows from a plumbing supply house to make the body of the extension. Very fine indeed!

You've gotta post pictures of that if you have it. If anyone finds metal bass clarinets let me know as well. I'm on the hunt

I don't know how to post photos here, but if you hum a few bars I'd be happy to show you my plumbers' nightmare.
