Since returning home to my native Kansas City area in 2001, it seems that there are two venues that specifically stand out as a place to hear live jazz performed in its most creative contexts. These are:
1. The Blue Room - national acts along with internationally, nationally, regionally and locally known artists like Bobby Watson. Example: Saxophonist, Greg Tardy and his Quartet will be appearing at the Blue Room jazz club here in Kansas City on Friday March 26th, 2004 from 8:30pm to 12:30pm. The Blue Room is a great jazz club here that is part of the American Jazz Museum, located in the historic 18th and Vine Jazz District of the city. Visit the link below for more information:

2. Jardine's Jazz Club - the best independently owned club in the city for jazz. Also features international stars like Bobby Watson too, but is a great place for local talent to have an opportunity to play as well. Great food and menu for a jazz night out: www.Jardines4Jazz.com
So, if you are ever in town and want to listen to live music, check these out...
