Not bad for an asian made(taiwan)sax for the money unless they have started sorcing from China.
You get what you pay for so the choige is yours. Most comments have been on the good side rather then bad

I believe there is more than one Prestini model, student and pro. I owned a Prestini Pro alto a couple of years ago and found it comparable to Jupiter Artists and late model Antiguas in quality, which is to say good solid construction with tight keywork and a pleasing tone - YMMV. It was a good horn. I don't recall anything particularly upsetting or negative about it. I remember selling it so I could buy a Selmer AS100, what I considered to be a significant upgrade at the time.
One of the SOTW participants is a Prestini dealer in San Diego, CA, but I forget who that was. He probably would be the best qualifed to answer your question if you consider the built-in bias that would attend his response.

I think you're talking about Jerry K.
Hopefully, he'll see this thread ...

That's right, Martha. Thanks for reminding me. Jerry K is the San Diego Prestini dealer I was thinking about, and I know he has nothing but good things to say about Prestini saxes.

That would be me and "ouch" regarding the built-in bias bit! I really do try to be objective despite the fact that I am a Prestini Dealer. I did actually post once that I preferred the Yamaha YSS475 over the Prestini Classic Soprano. :(
Natanalex, please post any questions you may have here or by email and I will attempt to provide an honest response. What are you looking for? Alto, tenor, soprano, ...?

Sorry, Jerry. I didn't mean anything personal with that comment. It just seems to me only natural that someone selling a product would be expected to be biased toward that product. If not, they may be in the wrong business, or selling the wrong product. No offense intended.

Yep, I remember the YSS-475 comment (I have one, and like it, so I tend to notice when people post positive or negative comments about them). :)

No offense taken, and for the most part I agree that most dealers will have a strong bias towards the brands they represent, some more than others. For years many dealers trashed any Taiwanese made horns, and look at what's available today from Antigua Winds, Cannonball, Unison, and others. Some still grip white knunkled to their misconceptions.
Say what Martha?

That make sense Martha. All I saw when I read your response earlier was a "." and nothing more. Must have been a glitch or something. And yes, you have a very nice soprano. I owned one for several months and then sold it to a really good local pro here in San Diego who needed it more than I did.
