What is your favorite Meyer-based mouthpiece? In other words, what mouthpiece do you heavily favor that clearly utilizes a similar design to the vintage Meyer Bros models? Please list your piece, explain in a short, but detailed anecdote of why it is your favorite and, if possible, how it compares to the original Meyer Bros pieces.

Thank you everyone and I look forward to hearing all your responses! :)

If this thread itself doesn't get huge, here's a similar topic that I made a little while back that might give you some information.

Personally, I've played on a couple (including the JJHR*) but have currently settled on a standard Meyer 7M (not the rich folk kind either :P) If I try something else anytime soon, it'll probably be a Phil-Tone piece, but as of now I'm okay with how this is playing for me.

What can I do to make you less satisfied with your Meyer

....just kidding. If it works play the facing off the thing!

Do not worry Phil...the Custom Meyer you created months ago is still the piece the beat. ;) I'd just like to see what other unknown choices "lurk" in the shadows.

I read that the chamber of a NY Meyer was slightly larger than a modern small chambered Meyer,
but certainly not as large as a modern medium chambered one.

So, EZ worked a modern small chambered Meyer that way for me.
Plus, I asked for plenty of cut.

I really like it.

I have not played a NY Meyer.

Im loving the JJ HR 6M on alto. A great balance of warmth and brightness.

The new Ponzol HR Vintage.
What can I say. It gives me that 50s, 60s HR Meyer/Link vibe. Plays well, feels good. Don't need nothin' else for MOR jazz.
