what mouthpiece do you think will be best for the cannonball alto sax?

Neither? How about a Rousseau? I think that is a good fit with almost any instrument, but the Cannonball Big Bell would be a fine instrument with Rousseau. I would recommend the New Classic 4R facing. But...I suppose if you had to go with the Rascher or the Selmer, I'd take the Rascher. The Selmer C* has a square chamber and this causes a backlash of air and is not really a very good sound. Everyone LOVES the C*, but in all honesty, once you go to a round chambered mouthpiece, you realize how awful it is.

Can't really comment on alto, but on tenor I like the 6EL and the 3C. You can't go wrong with either one of those pieces.
