Hi,
Wondering if anyone knows much about these clarinet mpcs? I take it these are not as rare as their Alto Sax counter parts. Has anyone tried and liked these? What facing and chamber? Application?
Thank you.

I have a one that originally was a 4, with a long facing. Had a great sound but was quite tonally unstable.
I then got it refaced with the same tip as my Vandoren B40 lyre and now the Meyer's great!
The B40 is sweeter sounding, a little 'woodier'- but the Meyer really roars in a big band or on a more trad sort of gig. The tip rail is quite thin and hence it doesn't articulate like the B40, but its still a great mouthpiece. Not dissimilar to a Selmer C85 120 some to think of it.
Hope that helps.
Overall I would say that the B40 lyre(13) is the most appropriate clarinet mouthpiece for a sax player that I've tried. I used to play an M30 or 5RV lyre and a guy from NYC who plays on broadway recommended it to me. I've never looked back.

thanks benny, I came across a 7m in the org box and I think it will work well in the big band setting. The thing that surprised me is how comfortable it is. I have never had much luck with larger facings before.

I recently got a 5S meyer bros from a member here (got it on ebay) and I'm really happy with this. I refaced it long table open facing and it's a blast and joy to play

wow, a 7! I tried a 6 once too and that was great.
Incidentally, these are the mouthpiece of choice of Australian jazz legend, Don Burrows. Great clarinet player (aolng with everything else!)
