Hi fairly new to the forum so sorry if I just couldn't find the answer and it has been asked before.
What is the difference between the Cleveland that says King on it and the Cleveland that says HN White & Co?
Thanks,
Mark

The later ones (after the 1960s?) no longer had the H N WHITE markings.

So are they really just the same company with multiple names and one is not better than the other?

Usually the Cleveland horns are a "step-down" from the "normal" Kings of the same year.
The Cleveland horns typically would be modeled after that previous generation of King horns. This holds true mostly for Altos and Tenors though as there weren't as many changes in the Sops and Baris.
My first Bari was a pre-war Cleveland that was very Zephyr-like. It was well worth the low price I paid for it.

Same ownership until the UMI deal around 1980 BUT still was teh same company in Ohio until the Selmer buyout.
