When I was in High School we were required to attend the UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition. I remember one year, my ensemb;e was very untrustworthy. They never showed up to practice, didnt care when they did practice, and so forth. I also tried calling them several times. Even the band director even called them. We actually played it through mabye twice as a group. I was wondering, how do you go about and improve a situation like this, when you've tried everything possible?
We got a 1 that year, strangely

Hi Amon Amarth,
I have been in the solo and ensemble contest myself and I know how you must feel trying to get your group to practice with you so you all can get a good rating.
I think you should talk to your group members and try to make them understand where you are coming from. If they still don't care you should find different players who are reliable and are willing to take some time to practice.

Amon - Quite bluntly, with situations like this, you LEAVE. What you have there is a conflict of interest - these guys obviously don't care, and there's little chance of you affecting their mindset. You must question whether or not there's anything you can really do to improve the situation, and if there isn't, you don't have much business wasting your time on them or on the group if most people aren't making an honest effort.
