well, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and whatnot, I know I did. I purchased myself a brand new Jody Jazz DV 7 today, and I cannot wait to get it next week. Let's hope that music123 is as prompt as they should be with overnight shipping. I will keep you all informed on how it plays and how well it sounds (not to mention how beautiful a mouthpiece you can get for $500).

Okay Folks. I got it today, and wow. It was something else. The proportions on this thing are extreme and I can't believe how wonderful the sound it produces is. I don't know why people say that the sound is too bright, to me it is just right. So far I am loving it and I am using Vandorren Jazz #4 reeds. I will keep you guys posted and maybe post an audio clip once I get fully acclimated to it.

Making friends all over the world, eh Jazz House?
"Manteca" is also a Dizzy Gillespie tune.
Deb, what size tip opening did you get? A #4 reed might be a little extreme, even though it is a very free-blowing piece. I had one for awhile, and I did find it too bright. But if you play rock, fusion, or contemporary styles, you're going to love it. You definitely got yourself a great mouthpiece there. Enjoy it!

Haha, yes it is actually a town. There was a printing error on a train ticket in the early 1900s or so, and the name just stuck.

I got the 7 facing on the mouthpiece, but I just bought sizes 1-4 of Vandorren Jazz, Java, and Classic, and I am going to try out each one and see which one produces a tone that I like the most.
