The finish makes no difference IMO.

Just one thing to note, I took my horn to have a few tweaks done today with my tech and took down my MB II, my advice is to get the plate checked as mine was badly out of shape! Nice and flat now and plays alot better!!

Gold doesn't tarnish. It makes no difference to the sound. I think the gold does look better though...

Try a Law Buzzer if you can,Mojo's site has some i think.Based on MB2's but i think improved alot, not as harsh and bright.I have owned a Hand made and 2 laser MB2's piece's and i much prefer the Hand made Law as it's much warmer and greater responce.

The plating does not last well on the WWBW Guardala's. Even when treated with great respect.
From this point of view I actually find the gold better than the silver.

Both of them are really, really thin. It's harder to tell on the gold ones because the brass is gold underneath.

Actually, to the best of my knowledge, it's not possible to plate gold directly onto brass. Brass has to be silver or nickle plated first before it's gold plated.

It is possible, gold just doesn't stick well without an interplate.

OK. Thanks, G. Maybe that would account for the dark spots of 'tarnish' that can appear on cheap gold plating?

Gold sticks fairly well to brass in my experience. Silver or Nickel may help make a better plating job but they are also used to make a thin layer of gold look brighter. Anderson Plating likes to use copper, silver then gold.

I own a gold and silver wwbw MBII and find that there is no difference in the playing. I can't speak to the perserverence of the finishes as I only played the Gold for a few months before switching and sticking to my Kali.

The gold was a nicer look with my horn though and I liked the "two=tone" thing when using a Selmer 402 lig on it (yes, the alto lig fits better due to the thiner body of the Guardala's).

Good luck. I like them especially for the price.

Thanks alot you guys, I know im a bit annoying with this but I just needed help but great great help thanks alot. And don't worry I know that the 402 fits better i have it for my berg(really slim body too) but idk maybe i'll just get the gold one I don't like it when silver tanishes. Well, happy holidays!!:D
