My name is Andrew Pangilinan, and I've been on the SOTW board since almost the very beginning! On the previous SOTW board, I was simply Andrew. I've been playing alto sax since the 4th grade. I'm 18 now, and I'm now a second semester Freshman here at the University of North Texas. I didn't really get into music until my sophomore year of high school when I started to win awards and scholarships at jazz competitions. I hail from Northern Virginia (Centreville...in Fairfax County to be exact), but am in Denton, TX now. I major in Jazz Performance, and I play in the 4 O'Clock Lab Band as the lead player...I'm *hoping* to make it into the 2 or 3 O'Clock next fall...but we'll see about that :) I am planning on getting my Bachelor Degree here at UNT, and then get my Masters at Maryland in saxophone under Chris Vadala...and lessons on the side w/Marty Nau. After that, I hope to join one of the DC military ensemble...whether it be jazz or classical, it doesn't matter to me...a job is a job. Although I hope it is one of the jazz groups ;) I hope to meet a lot of new people! Without this board, I probably wouldn't be here at UNT! Keep on blowin'!

HOLY CRAP this is an old thread! I remember being on SOTW when the site was still on the old server! What a surprise how things ended up huh? Mostly correct minus the degrees lol. Thanks for finding this thread!

PS - I changed my last name, too! Funny how that worked out :)
