Hello guys.
I received a Grassi Prestige back in High school and was looking to sell it now 12 years later as I really have no use for it.
I don't know much about the machine other than the serial is 59840
the buttons are pearl and there are no dents on it...just a few minor scratches.
What is a good asking price and where could I go about selling it?

If you sell it on ebay, you can start the auction at $0.99. The buyers will decide what it is worth. That is the way to get the highest price. I guess this one would go for about $150 in an auction. I'm guessing it is an alto?
These would bring a bit more a few months ago, but ebay prices have been drooping a bit lately.

Yes, it is indeed an alto.

I'd say PM JMax, he seems very knowledgeable about Grassis!

It should go for quite a bit more. That's a Prestige 2000. I haven't seen an alto version up for a while, but I would guess that it would sell for $500-850 and possibly a bit more. Sell it on eBay.

yes the only way to find its true market value is to put it up for auction. Mind you! This could reveal itself to be a disappointing exercise because, although Grassis have some appreciation among players, this is not immediately apparent in its market value because they are relatively unknown if not frowned upon by those who like the sound of the best known names but have never actually seen or played a Grassi! So , My guess is that if you put it up for sale here on SOTW you might be standing a better chance
