Hey,

I heard that Jon has cancer and is not feeling well. I have a question, do you guys know if he still works on mouthpieces even though he has cancer? I sent him a few emails but I didnt get any response back. I got a Limited Edition New York Meyer Mouthpiece and I want Jon to rework on it. Is there anyway I can contact him? Does his phone number work?

Does anyone recommend any other VERY GOOD EXPERIENCED mouthpiece reworkers if Jon cant work on it? THANX SO MUCH. :?

I think Jon is working when he feels up to it, but since he has an extensive backlog of work, I wouldn't send him anything new. Another poster on this board, MojoBari has done some refacing work for guys, I think.

Do you know how I can contact Mojobari? I play the alto. Also, I visited Jon Van's webpage and it said he can make a current Meyer into almost a VINTAGE meyer! Do you think he can get to my mouthpiece if I send it right now? How long does he usually take around right now if I sent it? 1 month? 2 months? 2 years? :o

Did you go read his post in the Miscellaneous section? He has more work than he expects to get finished. Is that sinking in?

MojoBari can probably be tracked down by looking through this board for posts and checking his profile.

I would email Theo Wanne (go to his website: www.mouthpieceheaven.com for his contact info). Theo does GREAT work, but he stopped taking new work in order to get caught up - drop him a line and see how long the turn-around would be. Alot of my friends and students have had their Meyers worked on by Theo (some went for his "custom" Meyer, others just had a reface done) and they all loved the mpc when it was finished.

Saxomophoner - I bit my tongue on the first go around, but I've got to say you seem to be more interested ín your mouthpiece than in the tragic situation a man and his family is experiencing. I hope this is just an oversight, but you certainly didn't respond to the first tactful suggestion.

Please read the entire thread on Jon, not only to see what the situation is, but to understand how serious everyone is taking this. You might want to redirect your search for the perfect mouthpiece.
