View Full Version : Very Unusual Selmer Paris Mouthpiece

I have just aquired another selmer paris mouthpiece. I have no idea what kind it is. It has a HUGE round chamber, with no baffle. It Doesn't have a scroll on it either! So its not a modern square chamber, or a vintage soloist. And it doesn't have LT on it so its not a Teal. The only marking on it is S*. Could this be from like a selmer balanced action, or were the soloists made then? Its pretty unusual...

Check Mouthpiece Heaven, sounds like a airflow piece. does it have a ring on the shank?

So what is the story on this mpc? I am very curious. How big is the tip? How does it play? When was it made...etc?

CodyW -- In addition to jpciii's question, what is the chamber like? I agree that this is unlike any Selmer piece I've ever seen -- and is clearly not an Air Flow. BTW for good information on Selmer pieces, including pics of the chambers, see Theo's site:
